El empleo de isótopos permite estudiar perfectamente el desplazamiento de los materiales a lo largo del horno. en otros aspectos referentes a la influencia de diversos factores sobre el funcionamiento del horno y sobre el proceso de cocción, se llega a la misma conclusión que mediante los métodos clásicos de investigación.
