In the field of energy saving, mainly thermic, in the cement industry, not only should we consider the possibilities in the technological process or the finished product, but also the influence of the chemical-mineral composition of the raw materials. The distinct parameters which fall into the reactivity of the crudes are analyzed, such as the size of the grain (fineness), chemical and mineral composition of the principal components. There follows an exposition of the importance of the minority components as smelting and mineralizers, finally emphasizing the interest and practical behaviour of some of them.
